What is Sage 50cloud Accounts?
Sage 50cloud Accounts is the latest name for Sage 50c Accounts, that was formerly known as Sage 50 Accounts and before that Sage Line 50. It is a desktop accounting product family published by Sage Group plc primarily for the UK and Irish markets.
At the time of writing, I believe that Sage 50cloud Accounts is the most widely-used accounting software in the UK and Ireland for businesses with between 10 and 100 employees. Sage claims that over 400,000 businesses use Sage 50cloud Accounts.
The current version is Sage 50cloud Accounts v25 (also known as Sage 50cloud Accounts 2019).
If it is a desktop product, why is it called Sage 50cloud Accounts?
Sage 50cloud Accounts includes features that enable you to collaborate via the cloud, using icrosoft Office 365. It is still called Sage 50cloud Accounts whether you enable these features or not.
Who is Sage 50cloud Accounts for?
Sage 50cloud Accounts is aimed at the small to medium sized business sector. I heard somewhere that the number "50" referred to "up to 50 employees", though this may just be a story retrofitted to the name.
Why would you choose Sage 50cloud Accounts?
Here are several reasons why you would chose Sage 50cloud Accounts to run your business:
- Support from your accountant or bookkeeper. For years, Sage 50cloud Accounts has been the most-recommended accounting software in the UK and Ireland. Along with that comes and enormous pool of tantent available to support your business
- Broad functionality. Sage 50cloud Accounts is packed with comprehensive functionality that covers much broader aspects than just accounting. In some ways you can think of it as an entry-level ERP system that includes stock control, sales order processing and purchase order processing
- Awesome reporting with Suntico BI - yes, excuse the self-promotion, but this is my blog and it is true :)
